Project Title: Calico-Solar One Project (formerly SES Solar One)

          location: San Bernardino County, east of Barstow, in the Mojave Desert, CA

          descriptions: August 2010: The BLM prepared a Proposed Resource Management Plan Amendment/Final Environmental Impact Statement for the project and it is available for viewing. May 2010: S&C Electric Co. was selected to perform engineering services. The project sits on 8200 acres and 34,000 dishes. The project is expected to begin construction of the 500-MW Phase I in late 2010 and begin producing power in early 2011. Phase II includes an optional 350-MW expansion, which is expected to be completed in 2014. May 2009: the project has been deemed "data adequate" by the California Energy Commission (CEC). The application was filed in December 2008. This is a key step in the CEC permitting process and initiates the CEC's 12-month timeline to complete processing the project. Construction will be done in two phases and is slated to start in 2010 along with the Imperial Valley Solar Two project.

Project Title: Diocese of San Jose Solar Project

          location: Los Altos, CA

          descriptions: February 2010: The system was activated. June 2009: Photon Energy Services unveiled plans to create one of the largest Catholic solar projects in America working with the Diocese of San Jose. Partnering with 5 parish/school combinations and one cemetery, Photon will provide the solar energy to generate approximately 70% of each site's collective electrical needs. The diocese is The Diocese is planning to launch the "Catholic Green Initiative of Santa Clara County" in an effort to preserve the earth's resources.

Project Title: EnBW Solar Park

          location: Ulm-Eggingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany

          descriptions: march 2010: The site is a former dump. The new project is expected to supply electricity to approximately 1,970 households and save approximately 3,990 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
