Record all your power point sales presentations

McIlvaine is creating a digital route for critical decision making.  It involves linkedin discussion groups and webinars where subjects are debated. It includes intelligence systems with case histories and white papers. An important component is the recorded presentation with the same informality but insightful knowledge which your sales people routinely display.  McIlvaine InterWebviews™ are posted in the Global Decisions Orchard, on YouTube and can be linked from your website.  They are important components in the digital decision systems.

What is important is to create a recording to answer the questions your prospect needs to hear before moving forward with you.  The discussion atmosphere created by the McIlvaine host responding to a focused presentation is invaluable. Your sales people spend thousands of dollars in preparation and travel just to make this type of presentation to one customer. The InterWebview™ is a way to permanently leverage this investment.

Informality is winning the day.  The polished corporate brochure is being replaced by the power point presentations being prepared by sales and application engineers.  Your customers are spending a good part of the day viewing text messages with abbreviated words and emails that come directly from the originator and not through a secretary.

This same informality can be applied to your recorded presentations.  Let the sales engineer prepare the power points and make the presentation.  This low-cost approach allows you to make 20 recordings for the price of one polished advertising agency version.  The credibility of an engineer who knows his product rather than a professional presenter resonates with the viewer.

The presentation, prepared in English, can be revised and delivered by a sales person speaking in another language.  Check out the CBI presentation  “Mercury in Mandarin” at  InterWebviews™.

As part of the major McIlvaine initiative to build the digital decision systems, we are offering a steeply discounted rate on all InterWebviews for the next three months.  The cost will be only $40/minute with a minimum of 15 minutes, so this is only $600.  We recommend short-focused presentations.  This allows you to create recordings for each product in each application in each major language.

For more information on InterWebviews™ contact Bob McIlvaine at 847-784-0012 ext. 112 or rmcilvaine@mcilvainecompany.com.

Evoqua introduces a method superior to traditional ozone or peroxide based processes for removing total organic carbon (TOC) in point-of-use (POU) systems.

Our proprietary advanced oxidation process used in the Vanox® POU system can consistently reduce TOC to 0.5 parts per billion (ppb) and treat seasonal TOC variations in feed water. This is important because TOC elevations above 1.0 ppb can directly affect the manufacturing process, significantly impacting product yields. Many immersion lithography tools require low organic content for warranty but their impact on process performance cannot be understated. The repeat orders for Vanox systems by nearly every factory they are placed in should be an indicator of how these tools can pay for themselves.

The Vanox system removes and/or controls urea and IPA, the primary organics that can require a more elaborate treatment. These difficult to control organics have been proven to impact yield and device performance especially at the most demanding process steps. THM (Trihalomethane), such as chloroform, which is generated as a by-product from the use of chlorine in municipal water treatment is readily controlled, as well.

In addition to TOC reduction the platform exceeds the ITRS specifications for particle reduction less than 100 unit per liter at 0.05 microns, critically stable temperature controls, and low trace metal and gas removal. Each of these parameters have been proven to provide a stability for process control that only the Vanox POU platform can offer.

The fully redundant (n+1) designed Vanox POU systems offers 365 days, 24 hours uptime. The Vanox family of systems ramps to meet the incoming demand required preserving power, capital costs and chemical. By utilizing a suite of analytical measurement tools the tool offers continuous process control and access to streaming process data for constant tracking of the system and environmental promoters that it is responding to.

Gas Turbine Owners Will Spend $313 Billion for Equipment, Repairs and Service Next Year

Gas turbine owners will spend $87 billion for new plants and $226 billion for service and repair in 2017.  This is the latest forecast in 59EI Gas Turbine and Combined Cycle Supplier Program.   The Americas and Asia will each spend more than Europe and Africa combined.

GTCC plants are challenged by the rapid cycling required.  Wind and solar are playing an increasing role in power generation but their operations are not constant.  As a result, the GTCC plants are operated to balance the fluctuating contribution from other sources. Flow accelerated corrosion and other problems are being addressed.  Operators are being assisted in dealing with these problems in another McIlvaine service 59 D Gas Turbine and Reciprocating Engine Decisions.  Subscribers to the supplier program also receive 59 D at no extra cost.

This service includes webinars, white papers and LinkedIn discussions on components and consumables for both gas turbine and reciprocating engine decisions.  The goal of this service is to help purchasers make the lowest total cost of ownership decisions. It is free of charge to any turbine owner worldwide.  Suppliers who subscribe have the opportunity to participate in the discussions.

The market forecasts are continually updated in the supplier program.  Biweekly updates in the supplier program alert the subscriber to new projects.  A database of new projects by start-up date and details on all operating turbine plants provide information needed by the sales team.  The LinkedIn groups in the decisions program provide the customer contact and insights for engineering and research.

For more information on the reports and databases contact Bob McIlvaine at 847-784-0012 ext. 112 rmcilvaine@mcilvainecompany.com.

New Approach Allows Suppliers to Reach 50 percent of the World’s Power Generation Market

Large utilities are expanding through merger and acquisition.  As a result, 100 power generators around the world buy more than 50 percent of the products and services. These operators are expanding into wind, solar, biomass, geothermal and other renewable fuels. They have distributed generation initiatives. Many are making major investments to meet new environmental regulatory requirements. There are thousands of challenging decisions which have to be made.  A new program is creating a unique path for decision makers to combine the hurry-up habits of the IPhone and Facebook with the wisdom of “wise crowd” decisions.  The program for the first utility is now available.

Berkshire Hathaway Energy (BHE) includes PacifiCorp, NV Energy, Mid-American, BHE Renewables, Northern and Kern River Pipeline. The two pipeline companies transport 7 percent of the natural gas in the U.S.  The power companies operate coal, gas, hydro, solar, geothermal, biomass, wind and other renewables generators.

McIlvaine now has Berkshire Hathaway Energy Supplier and Utility Connect to be used by suppliers as well as BHE personnel.  It has details on every one of the hundreds of power generators within the system. It fulfills the 4 knowledge needs: Alerts, Answers, Analysis and Advancement.  It combines 44I   Coal fired Power Plant Decisions (formerly PPAQD) and 59D Gas Turbine and Reciprocating Engine Decisions with the custom BHE program. This includes interfacing with hundreds of BHE people indirectly through the Alerts, case histories, etc., and directly through large and small webinars.

New Approach allows Subscribers to Reach the Summit of the Mountain of Information on Coal-fired Boilers

The available information on combustion, flow control, treatment and environmental compliance for coal-fired power plants is doubling every few years.  Finding the most current and relevant information is now more challenging than climbing Mt. Everest.

The four knowledge needs are Alerts, Answers, Analysis, and Advancement.  These needs are served in a number of unique ways in McIlvaine’s PPAQD Coal-fired Power Plant Decisions.  The system is free of charge to any power plant in the world.  This wide reach makes it very important to suppliers who add considerable value with their input.

Alerts:  The service includes six alerts and newsletters.

Answers:  The intelligence system includes thousands of pages of papers, articles and power point presentations.  The coverage is international. Many developments in one country are not known in other countries.  A system used by power plant owners and suppliers in all countries assures better information exchange.

Analysis:  There are regularly scheduled webinars.  Hundreds of hours of recorded webinars can be immediately retrieved.  A number of LinkedIn discussion groups have been created. They include individual air pollution control technologies such as fabric filtration and dry scrubbing.  There are separate groups covering each component e.g. valve, instrumentation and groups organized around processes such as coal combustion residues and wastewater treatment.

The webinars provide ways to aggregate and analyze the data being added in the LinkedIn discussion groups.  The intelligence system provides the foundation for discussion group participants.

One of the primary goals is to make it easier for power plants to make total cost of ownership analyses at reasonable cost.  The system includes white papers and identifies experts who can make contributions.

Advancement:  The recorded webinars and the intelligence system are very valuable as training tools. They can be utilized for basic training or keeping the most senior people current with new developments.
