Subject: residential air filtration revenues soar due to upgrading
McIlvaine has conducted detailed analysis of space devoted to various air filter types at Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and other major distributors. The first analysis was conducted in 1999 and one was just completed giving a five year interval. Over that time, the space devoted to low cost-low efficiency filters has shrunk from dominant to a minority position.
Air Filtration and Purification: World Markets includes detailed price and space analysis for a number of stores. Major changes have also been made in forecasts of residential filter revenues in the low efficiency category (G1-4) and the medium efficiency category (F5-9). Separate forecasts have also been made for 1 inch and 4 inch filters. The deeper more expensive filters are finding growing market acceptance due to their longer life.
The turnaround in the semiconductor industry is resulting in adjusted forecasts for the high efficiency (H10-H17) filters particularly in Japan and China where nearly 50 percent of the new fab construction is taking place this year. Each fab project is being tracked in World Cleanroom Projects http://www.mcilvainecompany.com/cleanroom.html#80A .
