STEVE MYERS - ANDRITZ
BIO: Steve Myers is Industry Manager for Mining & Minerals for ANDRITZ Separation for the North America Region. Steve has spent over 35 years working in the Solid / Liquid separation industry, first with Bird Machine Company and the last 10 years with ANDRITZ. Steve has experience in many minerals applications as well as in numerous CPI segments, working with both centrifuges and filters. He holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.B.A. in Marketing from Keller Graduate School of Management.
ABSTRACT: ANDRITZ Separation offers a broad range of solid/liquid separation and drying solutions to the minerals, chemical, food & pharma, and environmental industries. ANDRITZ has been involved in gypsum dewatering for many years, and can offer both horizontal vacuum belt filters and basket centrifuges, as well as drum filters, filter presses, pusher centrifuges, and decanter centrifuges. ANDRITZ Separation has lab testing facilities in Texas and Kentucky and provides customer support through regional service centers around North America.
BARRY PERLMUTTER – BHS FILTRATION
BIO: Barry A. Perlmutter is President and Managing Director of BHS-Filtration Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of BHS-Sonthofen GmbH. Barry has over 30 years of experience in the field of solid-liquid separation, filtration, centrifugation and drying. He received a BS degree in Chemistry from Albany State, NY, MS degree from the School of Engineering at Washington University, St. Louis and an MBA from the University of Illinois.
ABSTRACT: BHS-Filtration Inc. manufactures solid-liquid separation systems with the BHS core technologies of vacuum belt filters and candle and pressure plate filters. BHS then provides complete turnkey skid packaged systems for filtration, adsorption, thickening and polishing at energy, refinery gas, and petrochemical plants worldwide. The BHS rubber belt filters or indexing belt filters are installed for gypsum dewatering at coal gasification, grey water, power plants and other critical petrochemical, chemical, and mining applications. BIO: I graduated from Frostburg State University (Western Maryland) with a B.S. degree in Business Administration and B.A. degree in Geography. I have 15 years of conveyor belt experience though my 6 years of service with GKD USA and my 9 years of service with Maryland Wire Belts (Cambridge Intl); where I was the International Sales Director. My sales experience has taken me all over the United States, Europe and South Africa.
ABSTRACT: GKD has been in business since 1925 and now operates the most advanced and one of the largest technical weaving mills in the world. We manufacture a high performance, high durability polyester belt that is used in dewatering gypsum slurry on horizontal belt vacuum filters.
