BIO, ABSTRACTS and PHOTO – April 14, 2011

 

 

BIO: Karin Madsen, M.Sc, Chem. Eng, is working in Environmental Catalysis in the R&D Department at Haldor Topsøe A/S. The focus of her work the last three years has been mercury chemistry in flue gases, especially across SCR-catalyst.  

 

ABSTRACT: This presentation will discuss the effect of various operating conditions, flue gas compositions and catalyst type/formulation on mercury oxidation across SCR catalyst. The discussion is based on a kinetic study that has been carried out a Haldor Topsøe A/S. In the same context, the measures necessary to meet 91% mercury retention as proposed by the EPA is covered.


 

JOHN COCHRAN – CERAM

 

ABSTRACT: CERAM is a manufacturer of homogeneous honeycomb and plate type catalysts for utility and industrial SCR applications.  CERAM is participating in an ongoing mercury oxidation characterization and optimization test program.  John Cochran, president of CERAM Environmental, will present some of the results of this comprehensive program.  Andreas Klatt, Senior Product Manager for CERAM is a co-author for this presentation.
