Chiyoda FGD Installed at 147-MW Asnaes 2 in 23 Months

Dong Energy completed a Chiyoda wet limestone CT-121 FGD system on 147 MW Asnaes Unit 2. This system was designed to also, with only minor modifications, be able to treat effluent from a possible future upgrade of Asnaes Unit 4 to 400 MW. Separate from the scope of the FGD supply, a new booster fan was installed upstream of the FGD, along with modification of the stack with an FRP liner for wet operation. The 700-MW Unit 5 FGD slurry preparation system and dewatering systems were integrated with the new Unit 2 FGD. This project was completed in 23 months.
