Turblex is a Market Leader in FGD Oxidation Air Compressors
The Turblex Corp. is partially owned by HV-Turbo, Helsingor, Denmark, who, in turn, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AG Kühnle, Kopp & Kausch, Frankenthal, Germany. This group of compressor companies, some over 100 years old, forms one of the world's largest manufacturers of centrifugal compressors. Turblex is selling compressors for atmospheric air for oxidation of gypsum slurries. The company claims energy savings as opposed to alternatives. Some of the units are sizable. For example the three compressors for AEP Mitchell have a rated flow of 35,000 ACFM and require 3500 hp. Recent orders include the following FGD projects:
WKE Coleman;
Progress Energy Asheville and Roxboro;
Duke Energy Marshall;
AEP Mountaineer and Mitchell;
Santee Cooper Cross 4;
First Energy Bruce Mansfield;
Santee Cooper Winyah 1,2,3,4;
PP&L Montour and Brunner Island; and
Wisconsin Electric Pleasant Prairie and Oak Creek.
