PPL also Plans FGD at Brunner Island 1 and 2 by 2009

The PPL Earnings Report for Second Quarter 2005 states that PPL plans to install FGD units at two of its coal-fired power plants in Pennsylvania. Scrubbers are planned at Montour 1 and 2 and Brunner Island 3 during 2008. The company also plans to complete the installation of scrubbers at Brunner Island 1 and 2 during 2009. Key contracts for these scrubber projects have been awarded (see next article). The company's current plan for the installation of scrubbers and other pollution-control equipment from 2005 to 2010 reflects a cost of about $1.5 billion.
