ALSTOM FGD at Los Barrios

Endesa has begun construction of a forced oxidation wet FGD plant at the Los Barrios power station in Spain. The 567-MW Los Barrios project will cost €82 million and begin operation in 2008. This installation will bring about a reduction in emissions of SO₂ of nearly 90 percent and particulate of 48 percent. ALSTOM Power Italia SpA will provide, in a consortium with INITEC Energia S.A., the major equipment under a turnkey contract. Endesa will provide the working teams.
