Wahlco Contracts
Wahlco Inc. has been awarded two contracts totaling more than $4 million. The first involves a complete line of air pollution control systems for a New Hampshire pulp and paper company that generates its own electricity by burning a by-product of their paper production process. In addition to back-end cleanup of particulate and reduction of NOx and SO2 emissions, the package also includes the patented U2A™ (urea to ammonia) system. The second contract, with an electric power utility located in New Jersey, is for aqueous ammonia systems to be installed on two 330-MW boilers. These systems will deliver ammonia to each of the unit’s induct SCR systems.
Wahlco, Inc., in conjunction with Hamon Research-Cottrell, also announced the successful start-up of a large scale urea to ammonia (U2A™) conversion system on the first phase of a 3000-MW coal-fired electric power plant in Michigan.
