Wahlco Contracts

Wahlco Inc. has been awarded two contracts totaling more than $4 million. The first involves a complete line of air pollution control systems for a New Hampshire pulp and paper company that generates its own electricity by burning a by-product of their paper production process. In addition to back-end cleanup of particulate and reduction of NOx and SO2 emissions, the package also includes the patented U2A (urea to ammonia) system. The second contract, with an electric power utility located in New Jersey, is for aqueous ammonia systems to be installed on two 330-MW boilers. These systems will deliver ammonia to each of the unit’s induct SCR systems.

Wahlco, Inc., in conjunction with Hamon Research-Cottrell, also announced the successful start-up of a large scale urea to ammonia (U2A) conversion system on the first phase of a 3000-MW coal-fired electric power plant in Michigan.
