Tri-Mer NO_x Removal

Tri-Mer Corp supplied Tri-NO_x Multi-Chem technology to an international manufacturer of a tablet OTC analgesic who was looking to reduce NO_x emissions. The client’s process produced virtually 100 percent nitrogen oxide (NO) in its exhaust gases and gas flows were not massive. Because the client preferred not to add to its chemical inventory, Tri-Mer suggested using air oxidation of NO, followed by removal of NO₂ by a scrubber.  

Tri-NO_x Multi-Chem technology usually employs a proprietary oxidizing compound plus dilute sulfuric acid to oxidize NO to NO₂. Substituting air oxidation saved the OTC analgesic company in excess of $100,000 annually in chemical costs and avoided hazardous chemical hassles.
