New SO2 and NOx Regs in New York

Lots of FGD systems will be required over the next five years in New York as a result of regulations passed by State legislators in March. SO2 emission allowances will be halved from the present amount, resulting in reductions of 130,000 tpy. NOx emissions will be reduced by 20,000 tpy above that required in the NOx SIP call. Governor George Pataki claimed that New York now has the toughest SO2 limits in the nation.
