The world GDP is over $90 trillion. The treatment, combustion, control

There is a $782 billion segment which is defined by the supplier interest
and capability as the Total
Available Market (TAM). It would include furnace filters in residences because
they are the same filters used in industry. Valves for residential faucets would
not be included because these are not the same types of valves used in industry.
The definition may not be obvious to outsiders but to the
purchasers, suppliers, associations, magazines, and event organizers
there is a common agreement.
This segment is further divided into the Most Profitable Market and the
less profitable but relevant segment.
The difference is whether price and delivery is paramount or whether
performance influences the purchasing decision.



Winning Orders at the 1000 Largest
Pharma Companies
Pharma Prospects

fractionation. This niche accounted for just under 10% of the AWE product sales
to the industry of $35 billion in 2022.

The plasma fractionation market is
growing at more than 6% per year. CSL and Grifols generate over 40% of the
industry revenues. Takeda, Octapharma, and Kedrion are also among the top ten
suppliers. The air, water, energy product opportunities at each company have to
take into consideration other products and also contract
manufacturing.
Most of the $8 billion in revenues generated by CSL are tied to
fractionation products. On the other hand Takeda with revenues of $32 billion is
a larger AWE product purchaser even though their fractionation related sales are
less than $3 billion.
The opportunity is also continually shaped by technology advances. GEA
has a new separator. Filter press
suppliers are automating to decrease total cost of ownership. The future market
for each of these competing products needs to be continually assessed with a
lowest total cost of ownership (LTCO) analysis.

ALUMINUM
CECO Environmental Solutions Enable Industrial Process Recovery and Recycling
for Aluminum Manufacturer
CECO
Environmental Corp. announced that its CECO Busch brand recently delivered an
integrated, multi-product line, aluminum chip collection and recycling solution
to a leading provider of aluminum plates, sheeting and extrusions in North
America for its new milling system. This system is currently under construction
and will be fully operational in early 2022.
The integrated solution is designed to efficiently collect tons of
aluminum scrap that is a standard byproduct of aluminum mill producers.
As aluminum producers mill the surface of slabs prior to finish rolling,
the scrap material is generated at a rate of up to 25 tons per hour. CECO's
custom-engineered solution integrates and leverages the strength of CECO
technologies, including CECO Flex-Kleen dust collection and CECO Fisher-Klosterman
cyclone separation systems, to collect this scrap material and recycle it.

INDUSTRIAL BOILER
Contract for Flue Gas Treatment Systems at Acciaierie d´Italia Plant Awarded to
Primetals Technologies and YARA Environmental Technologies
Three
160 MW boilers will be equipped with state-of-the-art flue gas treatment
systems. NOX, SOX, and dust emissions will be significantly reduced. Startup of
the first unit is scheduled for fourth quarter of 2022 A consortium consisting
of Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH and YARA Environmental Technologies GmbH,
both based in Austria, has been awarded by Acciaierie d’Italia a contract for a
new flue-gas treating (FGT) systems for the three 160 MW boilers at its power
plant No.2 in Taranto, Italy.
Within this consortium, Yara will deliver the new economizer and SCR
(selective catalytic reduction) DeNOx elements and Primetals Technologies will
cover the DeSOx- and dedusting part. The startup of the first FGT unit is
scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022 with the other two units following in
short succession.
Built in the early 1970s, power plant No.2 (CET 2) is a conventional
thermo-electric power plant which will now undergo a major environmental upgrade
through the installation of state-of-the-art flue gas treatment technologies,
including SCR DeNOx system (integrated in a new economizer) for reduction of NOx
emissions by 80%, Meros DeSOx technology for reduction of SOx emissions to less
than 130 mg/Nm³ and high-end fabric filters for removal of fine dust emission to
less than 2 mg/Nm³. In order to utilize the existing power plant configuration
and the limited available space, several special considerations had been
incorporated in the design of the new FGT systems already during the development
phase of the project.

The concentration of airborne particulate pollution and the size
distribution of the mass of the particles captured during air filters service
life affect strongly how their airflow resistance changes throughout their
operation. Therefore, the ageing process of air filters depends strongly on the
place and on the system where they are employed. Urban and industrial areas are
very challenging because of the high concentration of atmospheric sub-micrometer
particles which clog fibrous filter media quickly. In fact, smaller particles
get into the fibrous matrix (deep filtration) and occupy the space available
among the fibers. Larger particles tend to deposit on the top of the filtering
material (surface filtration) and increase much less its airflow resistance.
Depending on the type of filter material, natural ageing can show very different
behaviors. For sure it is very useful to compare service life of filter elements
in severe conditions. However, such testing programs should last six to twelve
months to be meaningful and reliable. Moreover, the trend observed in data sets
obtained during various years may differ because of the season or atmospheric
conditions.
These considerations are relevant and of practical interest for most air
filters and especially for those used in gas turbine air intake systems. In
fact, their service life, maintenance costs and energy implications are strongly
influenced by the type of airborne particulate pollution in a specific place and
system. The availability of a repeatable and reproducible laboratory procedure
to predict the natural ageing process, as closely as possible, is highly
desirable. This procedure would allow to design and to optimize the filter media
and the filter cartridge geometry, together with the combination of the most
appropriate prefiltration choice.
For this reason, Ahlstrom-Munksjö and Politecnico di Torino carried out a
research project to develop a new synthetic ultrafine aerosol able to clog a
full scale filter element in laboratory in a few hours.
BIOMASS
Valmet to Supply a Biomass Power Boiler and a Flue Gas Cleaning System to
Tahara Biomass Power LLC in Japan
Valmet
will supply a biomass power boiler and a flue gas cleaning system to Tahara
Biomass Power LLC in Tahara, Japan. The new CFB (circulating fluidized bed)
boiler will enable the customer’s power plant to achieve a stable power supply
at high thermal efficiency while significantly reducing CO2 emissions. This is
already the sixth received order for Valmet's CFB boiler to the Japanese market
since 2016.
The order was included in Valmet's orders received of the third quarter
2021. The value of this kind of order is typically around EUR 70 million. The
installation work is scheduled to start in 2023, and the plant will start
commercial operation during 2025.
The project will be delivered in cooperation with the Japanese company
JFE Engineering Corporation. JFE Engineering will be the EPC (Engineering,
Procurement and Construction) contractor for the Tahara Biomass Power Plant.
Valmet's delivery includes a biomass fired 112 MWe Valmet CFB Boiler and
a flue gas cleaning system. The annual output of the Tahara Biomass Power Plant
will be 770 million kWh, and the main fuel to be used is wood pellets. All the
electricity generated will be supplied to the grid companies based on feed-in
tariff scheme in Japan.

BWF Envirotec Group Acquires ACMA in
Spain
The
BWF Envirotec Group acquired its long-time partner, ACMA, in Spain on January 1,
2022. This acquisition will enable the BWF Envirotec Group to further expand its
leading market position in the global growth market of air pollution control.
ACMA was established in 1995 and offers high-quality and individual
filtration solutions for industry. Just 30 employees work at the Badalona
location, a Catalan industrial town, about ten kilometres north-east of
Barcelona. Filter bags for industrial filtration are produced with a flexible
fleet of machinery. The production capacity for manufacturing is 120,000 filter

Kemper Confirms Successful Test of Atmofizer Technology Improving
Industrial Fume Extraction/
Atmofizer
Technologies Inc. announced the completion of initial tests by Kemper GmbH, a
leading welding fume extraction equipment manufacturer and important supplier of
ambient air cleaning systems to Fortune 500 clients.

New Kice GR Filter
Kice
Industries announced it has introduced a new baghouse filter to its product
line, the Kice GR Filter.
“We are excited for this new and improved design which will result in
lower energy consumption and extended filter bag life,” said Drew Kice,
President and CEO, Kice Industries.
“It will provide a more reliable cleaning mechanism for filtering. The cleaning
mechanism will solve some long-standing challenges in this market.”
The new filter contains a patented method for controlling and activating
the reverse air cleaning system. It has a standard temp rating of 150 degrees F
with a max temp option up to 300 degrees F.
The filter also has low energy requirements with a 7.5hp reverse air
cleaning blower.
“We’ve been testing for two to three years and think our customers will
appreciate the user-friendliness of the design,” said Kice.
