Chiyoda Catalyst Decomposes Dioxin
Chiyoda Corp. (Tokyo) has developed a proprietary
catalyst that decomposes dioxin at normal pressure and room temperature.
The company claims that its technology can reduce
the dioxin concentration in incineration flyash from 10,000 picograms/gram to
below the targeted value of 1000 pg/g. The firm can treat about 1.8 m.t./d of
flyash, the amount
generated by a 120-m.t./d
municipal waste incinerator.
