AAF purchases their cartridges from European fabricators. The company says its media collects submicron dust particles; the blend of synthetic fibers and hydrophobic resin prevents adsorption of moisture while maintaining a low pressure drop;  enhanced dust-holding capacity and excellent airflow; and also has exceptional burst strength for resistance to abrasion and rupture. AAF cartridge filters are available in a wide range of media and size and replacement cartridge filters. Galvanized steel end-caps are bonded to the media to form a solid assembly. Pleat lock stabilization ensures uniform spacing between the pleats and superb dust release during pulsing. AAF retrofit filters are available with protected metal screens on both sides of the media, with only an inner liner, and with filter bands.

Constructed to withstand the rigors of pulse cleaning, AAF claims their cartridge filters provide 99.999% average efficiency on submicron particles with low energy and operating cost. All AAF replacement filters are guaranteed to meet rated performance standards based on industry accepted test procedures.

Freudenberg is a media and element fabricator. Freudenberg produces nonwovens by processes of:  drylaid staple fiber, wetlaid, spunbonded, melt blown, electrostatic spun microfiber, stitchbonded, needdlepunched, thermal bonded, chemical bonded and water entaglement. Brand names include Vilene, Viledon, Vilmed, Pellon, MicronAir, Vlieseline, Vildona, Fliselina, Lutradur, Lutrasil, Evolon and others.

Freudenberg Nonwovens Group also makes filters for dust removal. Filter cartridges, filter plates, filter bags and EcoProtec safety filters are designed for industrial dust removal involving:  workplace safety, environmental protection, system protection and product recovery.

Viledon DIN Standard Filter Cartridges: Application-specific pleat spacings, support nonwoven design or patented pleat corrugation give DIN Standard Cartridges high extraction performance coupled with low filter resistance. BIA-tested, synthetic filter media possess a significantly greater consistency of quality than conventional spunbonded nonwovens, and thus ensure that the residual-dust contents required are complied with even under the alternating stress of the compressed-air cleaning process.  Cartridge variants with antistatic filter media have been DMT-tested, and are manufactured using a patented grid imprint process. The DIN Standard Cartridges, with integrated covers, bases and support cages made of galvanized steel, are suited for retrofitting to most dust removal units in common use. The useful lifetime can be extended by additional washing.

Removal and filtration of dry, coarse and sub-micron dust. Purchases cartridges.

The EuroJet:

A cartridge dust collector which consists of powder-coat finished elements. The compact design cartridges are mounted by bayonet fasteners. Filter exchange takes place by simple replacement of the filter bellows.  Volume flow 2,000 - 24,000 m³/h; Filtration rating: BIA L, M and H; Maximum operating temperature:  60 °C; Relative humidity range:  20-90 %; Supply voltage for the valves: 24 VDC; Cellulose, polyester, and meltblown; can be equipped in some cases on an anti-static basis.

Pulse Filter Cartridges:

The fundamental characteristic of this cartridge is that only the filter bellows itself must be disposed of, not the entire cartridge. An additional characteristic is the low pressure difference as a result of elimination of the outside basket. The folds also cannot press together to contact each other, owing to the stamped impressions provided on the filter material. Filter categories U, S, G, and C are available using media in cellulose, polyester, and a completely newly developed meltblown material. A medium with antistatic properties can also be delivered.

MultiPuls:

Impressed filter fleece folded to form a filter bellows. Applications for filtration of dry dust, from coarse down to sub-micron particle sizes; Intake-air for gas turbines; Process air; Grinding dust; Exhaust suction for conveyor systems.

Filter class: BIA L, M and H; Rated volume flow: Up to 1,200 m³/h per cartridge; Maximum operating temperature: 80 °C; cellulose, polyester, and meltblown material; Supporting basket: steel, with powder-coat finish, re-usable.

All filter activities are managed from Putzbrunn with numerous sales offices throughout Europe. W.L. Gore works with selected fabricators in major markets in Europe, Japan, and the U.S. The fabricators purchase roll goods from Gore, and fabricate filter bags and cartridges.

A privately held company, W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., was founded January 1, 1958, in Newark, Delaware. Approximately 7,000 associates work in more than 40 plants and sales locations worldwide. Manufacturing operations are clustered in the U.S., Germany, Scotland, Japan, and China.

Proprietary technologies with the versatile polymer polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) have resulted in numerous products for electronic signal transmission; fabric laminates; medical implants; as well as membrane, filtration, sealant, and fibers technologies for diverse industries.

The company’s Pristyne® Filter Media feature an expanded PTFE membrane laminated to a support fabric. Product line consists of felted, woven, and spunbond products for a wide range of conditions and applications.

Gore's Superflex™ is a composite fiber which commingles filaments of fiberglass within filaments of PTFE. It has many of the benefits of fiberglass fibers, along with enhanced flexibility and resistance to abrasion. These composite yarns are then woven into a fabric for use in filter bags or pleated filter elements used in High Temperature Cartridges.

The air permeability of spunbond polyester, aramid felt composite, and the expanded PTFE/fiberglass composite is shown in Figure 3. The unlaminated materials have significantly higher air permeability values than the same materials laminated with expanded PTFE membranes. This type of surface filtration layer acts like a primary dust cake on standard unlaminated filter media. The membrane also increases the filtration efficiency of these materials. With 0.3 µm ePTFE membrane the  efficiency at face velocity of 5.2 ft/min was 99.446 percent for the spunbond polyester, 95.679 percent for aramid felt composite and 97.919 percent for ePTFE membrane/ fiberglass. Without the laminated ePTFE membrane, the fiberglass composite has an efficiency of 2.824 percent and is not suitable for collecting fine particulate.

The weight of the new expanded PTFE/fiberglass composite is greater than spunbond polyester and the aramid felt, although the thickness is close to that of the polyester. The lower thickness of this filter media provides the additional benefit of maximizing filter area and pleat spacing. Many of the available pleated aramid and polyimide felt composites are up to two times thicker than the 8-ounce (270-g) spunbond polyester and the Superflex™ fabric. If the pleat spacing is the same in both cases, 0.375 inches (9.5 mm), an additional four pleats (or 10 percent more filter surface area) can be added to the filter constructed with the thinner material.
