Thermax Ltd. has signed a technology transfer and license agreement with Germany's Balcke-Dürr GmbH. The license mainly encompasses manufacture of dry and wet ESPs. The agreement covers the leading European and American ESP designs of Balcke-Dürr for utility power projects up to 300 MW. Balcke-Dürr and Thermax will cooperate on a case-to-case basis for larger units.

"In the next five years, thermal power plants in India will add another 35,000 MW of capacity. The agreement will help Thermax gain a rightful share of the air pollution control business emerging from this sector," said a spokesman from Thermax.
