300-MW CFB Qinhuangdao No. 5 Begins Operation

Unit 5 (300 MW) at Qinhuangdao Power Co. was put into operation on November 28, 2006. The unit is the largest CFB installation in North China. Calcium injection into the furnace is used for SO₂ removal. Unit 6 of the same size is still under construction.
