Bow FGD Project to Continue

A New Hampshire state panel has narrowly denied requests from residents and businesses to review its decision allowing a $457 million upgrade at the Bow power plant. The Site Evaluation Committee voted 5-4 recently to reject requests to reassess the addition of a new scrubber, which includes a 445-foot smokestack. Construction of the FGD at the Public Service of New Hampshire Co. power plant started this summer as part of state-mandated upgrades to curb the plant's output of mercury and SO2 emissions.
