CDM, headquartered in Cambridge, MA, has won a contract from Ireland’s Ministry for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources to conduct a major study on the management and remediation of the Avoca mining area. The project is being supervised by the Geological Survey of Ireland. Mining has been going on in the Avoca area for nearly 300 years. The CDM study will include a proposal for the remediation and long-term management of the Avoca site and the costs involved.
