themselves controlled environments. By keeping the gloves clean throughout the
dipping process, they eliminate unnecessary handling and cleaning.
The company estimates that it has a 15-20
percent market share of medical gloves in the U.S. and a 30-35 percent share of
industrial gloves. In Europe it estimates its medical glove market share at
30-35 percent and the same for industrial gloves.
Barefoot Products
All Barefoot Products gloves
are manufactured in a Class 100 cleanroom. Their customers around the world
require the cleanest gloves available. Lowest particle counts, no outgasing,
comfort, form fitting that becomes more comfortable as you wear them, and vapor
transmitting are all selling features.
The patented material is clean from the
start. In most glove manufacturing processes, gloves are dipped and cure during
chemical evaporation. Barefoot Products does not use this form of manufacturing,
there is no need to clean their gloves after production like other cleanroom
gloves.
Barefoot Products has a new glove concept
and product they call "Peel-A-Way™". it is a whole new way of looking at glove
donning by starting out with a double glove and peeling the outer glove to
reveal a pure inner glove. The outer glove assures the cleanliness of the inner
glove until the proper time.

garments, and will not transfer adhesive to garment sleeves as do many cuff
tapes. The product is recommended for use with nitrile, vinyl, and latex
contamination control gloves.

in a small rural Ohio community and was known as Pioneer Industrial products
until being acquired in 1988 by MAPA, an international glove company
headquartered in Paris. This acquisition dramatically increased the company's
global presence and greatly expanded its product lines and technical support.
MAPA has been a leading supplier of gloves
for use in the critical environments arena since 1983 when the TRIonic glove was
introduced for protection against aggressive chemicals used in semiconductor fab
rooms. This uniquely formulated material (blend of nitrile, neoprene and natural
rubber) was adapted to thinwall, dry-end applications with the introduction of
RollPruf in 1984. Both gloves were among the first to be finished, inspected and
packaged in Class M3.5 clean environments and manufactured specifically for the
electronics market.
For more than a decade, MAPA has continued
to meet the ever-changing and more demanding glove needs of cleanrooms, from the
standpoint of both worker safety and contamination concerns. Glove particulates
have been reduced by 80 percent and extractables are now measuring only a
fraction of those at that time, if at all. Recognizing the importance of
consistently maintaining the low levels, MAPA now tests each production lot
before shipment.
