Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants

Pump Treatment Process:

San Ramon Pumping Station Renovations Project Improvements Functional improvements will include: Increasing the pumping capacity from about 5 million gallons per day (mgd) to about 16 mgd. This will include replacing four existing pumps and motors with four new, larger pumps and motors and associated piping systems. Replacing the existing emergency generator with a larger unit to continue to provide uninterrupted electrical power to the expanded pumping systems in the event of blackouts. Replacing and upgrading the electrical equipment and instrumentation systems. This will include installing new computerized systems to enhance control, remote monitoring and emergency response. Installing improved noise control systems. Installing improved odor control systems. Enlarging the existing building by approximately 24 by 36 feet on the north side. This is necessary to accommodate the new emergency generator. Constructing a new pressurized force main to connect the pumping station with the interceptor which carries the wastewater flows to our treatment plant in Martinez. Installing a new system to protect the pumps, piping, and force mains from pressure changes due to pump cycling and/or shutoff conditions.
