FRP and Linings are Gaining Market Share

The Hot Topic Hour on November 29 included good exchanges between the supplier specialists and the utilities. FRP is being used more widely. Linings also have a place in many applications.

The Nippon Yakin Kogyo presentation introduced an alternative to a C-276 alloy (a new stainless steel) which is half the cost. Since some of the decisions to choose FRP over alloys for the stack are based on the cost difference, this new option could shift the balance back a little.

Eight presenters provided details on the FRP, lining and alloy options available.
