Gypsum
Dewatering Is The Hot Topic Discussion For June 7
Belt filters and centrifuges are used to dewater gypsum sludges. These devices
are large and expensive and subject to maintenance. The quality of the gypsum
is impacted by their performance. Therefore making the right selection of
equipment and replacement belts and basket media is important. Gypsum
dewatering has been selected as the “Hot Topic Hour” subject for June 7 starting
a 9:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time. This audio/video webinar will include the
insights from the experts to answer the following questions:
- What percent solids do you want in your gypsum?
- Do you use a centrifuge or a belt filter for dewatering?
- Is it true that basket centrifuges achieve 95 percent
solids vs. only 90 percent with belt filters?
- What are the differences between belt filters?
- Do you use a thickener or cyclones or go directly from
the recycle system to the filter?
- Are there going to be enough large belt filters to
supply the need?
- What is the quality of Chinese made equipment?
- Do differences in the various processes affect the
dewatering equipment selection?
- What is the best selection for thiosorbic lime inhibited
oxidation sludges as opposed to forced oxidation?
- Is there a difference in the dewatering characteristics
of gypsum formed in a spray tower system as opposed to a tray tower or sump
scrubbers such as Chiyoda?
- How much wash water is required to remove residual
chlorides?
- What about selection of belts and belt media? How long
is belt life? What maintenance is required to maximize belt life?
