U.S. June Housing Starts Rise 2.3% to 1.467 Million Rate
U. S. housing starts rose 2.3 percent to an annual rate of 1.467 million, led by an increase in apartment buildings, the Commerce Department said. Building permits, a sign of future construction, fell 7.5 percent to a 1.406 million rate. Permits were forecast to fall to a 1.48 million pace, from 1.52 million, according to the survey. The rise in starts was led by a 9 percent increase in the West .
Canada June Housing Starts
