2009 U.S. Housing Forecasts
A survey of housing economists by Builder Magazine states housing starts for
2009 are predicted to be off another 20 to 30 percent, and will set another
record for the lowest level of activity since World War II. Starts are expected
to return to 2008 levels in 2010

U.S. Housing Starts and Permits Fell in December
Housing starts in December 2008 declined 15.5% from November and fell 45.0% from
December 2007, to 550,000. For 2008 overall, housing starts fell 33.3%, to
904,300, the U.S. Commerce Dept. reported
Canadian Housing Starts Slow Marginally in December, Down 7% for 2008
Canadian December housing starts were a seasonally adjusted annual rate of
177,300, just below the level hit in November. This was the slowest pace of
residential construction activity since late
2001

Clarcor Reports Record Fourth Quarter and Fiscal 2008 Results
Clarcor reported its 16th consecutive annual increase in sales and earnings.
Fiscal 2008 fourth quarter net earnings increased by 8.7 percent to $29 million.
Fiscal 2008 net earnings were $95.6 million, an increase of 5.5 percent from
2007
.
Clarcor indicated that the CLC Air restructuring program remains a very
important project, although the significant improvement expected in operating
profit for 2008 did not materialize. The company believes that the results
expected in 2008 will be achieved in 2009

Pall Corporation First Quarter Sales / Five Year Plan
Pall Corporation reported sales and earnings for the first quarter ended October
31, 2008.
First quarter sales grew to $578 million, a 4.3%, or $24 million local currency
increase over the first quarter of fiscal 2008. Net earnings were $43.1 million,
compared to $36.1 million, an increase of 19.3% over the first quarter of fiscal
2008

MFRI Announces Third Quarter and Nine Months Record Sales and Earnings
MFRI announced record sales and earnings for the third quarter 2008 and the nine
months ended October 31, 2008. For the third quarter 2008, Company net sales
were $76.8 million, 18.0% greater than the $65.1 million for the prior-year's
third quarter. Third quarter net income was a record $4.7 million compared to
