CONSTRUCTION
U.S. housing starts fell 8.9 percent in December. The Commerce Department said December housing starts slipped to a 1.933 million unit annual rate from November's 2.121 million unit pace.
For the year as a whole, starts rose 5.6 percent to 2.065 million units
About $29 billion in housing construction is planned in Miami, Florida with 93,638 units projected to be added in addition to tens of thousands rising elsewhere in Miami-Dade County, Miami Today reports ..

Healthcare construction spending has increased 10% year to date through October. Continued expansion at about the same pace is forecast through 2007, based on the 17% rise in healthcare construction starts so far in 2005.
