Subject: Big increase in UF and MF for water and wastewater

The worldwide installed base of microfiltration and ultrafiltration installations in drinking water and municipal wastewater applications increased more than 50 percent in 2003. This rapid growth will continue over the next five years, predicts the McIlvaine Company in its online continually updated RO/UF/MF World Markets report.

The rapid growth in the microfiltration and ultrafiltration segments will be matched by growth in the sales of reverse osmosis systems. Texas and California are planning substantial investments in desalination systems.  Texas is slating three big coastal desalination plants and an infrastructure corridor which will allow for the transport of electricity, gas, and water throughout the state.

The recent acquisition of USFilter by Siemens, and the continuing expansion of GE and ITT into the water field are indicative of the perceived large and growing market.

The McIlvaine Company writes an extensive monthly Update to RO/UF/MF: World Markets. This month the Update covers the conference including the papers and exhibitor displays as well as providing new project information and revisions in analyses. Changes have been made in some of the forecasts. The magnitude of these changes is explained in the Update.  Here are the titles:
