Pump Sales in 2009 Will Remain at $32 Billion

Despite the recession sales of pumps in 2009 will remain at the 2008 level of $32 billion worldwide.  There will substantial reductions in revenues in some markets but gains in others. This is the conclusion reached by the McIlvaine Company in the latest analysis in Pumps World Markets.

Centrifugal pumps will be the biggest product group.

Pump Revenues ($ Millions)

Some industries will show increases.  They include municipal water and municipal wastewater. Combined, these two markets will generate $12 billion in revenues.  The stimulus funding in the U.S. and China are the main drivers for this market increase.
