          Description:

Will incorporate SCR, low NOx burners, wet limestone FGD and dry and wet ESP and allow the use of Western Kentucky high-sulfur coal. SO2 removal will be 98 percent with an emission of 0.167 lb/MMBtu. NOx emissions will be 0.08 lb/MMBtu. (Both of these limits are below those proposed in Clear Skies--SO2 0.25, NOx 0.14). Some concerns about impact on Mammouth Cave. Has received pre-approval for the air quality permit. 2/02 Environmentalists still question impact on Mammouth Cave. Has signed letter of intent with EPC and still negotiating.10/02 Peabody continues to seek permits despite lawsuits filed to stop construction. 7/03 Has completed its application.
