Heat recovery systems for a power plant: PT Bekasi Power, Indonesia
The heat recovery steam generators supplied by Thermax are an integral part of the 130 MW combined cycle power plant set up by PT Bekasi Power, Jakarta. The supplementary fired HRSGs (each of 85 TPH) installed behind two gas turbines and a steam generator converts the waste heat into steam which in turn generates power. Thermax HRSGs have also been installed in projects in several other countries including India, Algeria and the Netherlands. PT Bekasi Power is a power plant located in West Java, Indonesia. It is a subsidiary of PT Jababeka Tbk which was established in 2007. As a 130 MW power plant generated by steam and gas (PLTGU), it strengthens Bekasi – Karawang electricity system through Cibatu substation owned by PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).

KEI supplies Valves to Indonesian Power Plants
PT. Karya Energi Indonesia (KEI) is a privately-owned company and was established in 2008 in Surabaya, Indonesia. Initially it was an Oil and Gas and Industrial general supply and trading company and has evolved into a major supplier, agent and distributor. It provides solution and technical support for industrial process instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature and analysis), industrial burners and combustion equipment, process flow control (pressure regulators, back pressure regulators, temperature regulators, valve, control valve) and portable industrial instrument measurement (flue gas analysis, leak detection and differential pressure measurement). KEI pursues opportunities in Oil and Gas, Power Plant, Petrochemical, Cement, Mining, Pulp and Paper, Palm Oil Refinery, Food and Beverage, Water Supply and Irrigation, Wastewater and Sewage Treatment Disposal, Agriculture, Electronics, Processing and Packaging, Marine and Shipbuilding. Indonesia is rich in geothermal resources and at present, it accounts for about 2.5% of the total installed capacity. However, while geothermal resources offer the potential for 20, 000MW of electricity, only 4% (787MW) has been developed in the past 20 years. The geothermal resources of the plant Dieng #1 contain a lot of Si in steam, making scales cling to steam production wells, steam tubes and steam turbines. As a consequence, at present, it only generates 40MW of electricity compared to the expected 60MW output. Despite there have been several measures taken, such as the injection of acid (which is also done in Japan) none have been effective in solving the problem. Agency for the assessment and application of technology (BPPT) asked Tohoku Electric Power Co. Inc to examine the scale problem in the plant through its overseas projects.
