Interview Summary:
The former Inspec Fibres is part of the business unit, Performance Polymers, which in turn, is part of Evonik Industries. Internal opportunities include Evonik Energy (former Steag) coal-fired plants including one in the Philippines where a Procon PPS/P84 blend is used with a coal-fired boiler. P84, because of its higher temperature capabilities is replacing PPS on difficult applications in cement, incineration, power generation, steel, lime and other industries. The highest specific surface of all fibers available ensures an outstanding collection efficiency of dust particles. For this reason P84 is also used in fiber blends with the intention to boost the filtration efficiency at critical applications. China is a rapidly growing market for this fiber.
