Taking the sulfur out of the diesel results in a situation where the entrained water is difficult to remove. A new coalescing media takes water out of biodiesel and low sulfur diesel fuels and forms droplets from 3.5 to 6 microns.

Ahlstrom is investing $10 million in expansions in the U.S. and China in 2008. Plans in the U.S. call for consolidating its air filtration sites in Bellingham, Massachusetts and Darlington, South Carolina to its Bethune plant in South Carolina.
