Universal Continuing Decision Process For: Carbon Sciences *

By innovating at the intersection of chemical engineering and bio-engineering, Carbon Sciences has developed a low energy process to transform large quantities of CO2 into gaseous and liquid fuels using organic biocatalysts. Their biocatalytic process converts CO2 into basic hydrocarbons – C1 (methane), C2 (ethane) and C3 (propane). The transformation occurs in certain micro-organisms where carbon atoms, extracted from CO2, and hydrogen atoms, extracted from H2O, are combined to create hydrocarbon molecules. Instead of using expensive inorganic catalysts, such as zinc, gold or zeolite, with traditionally high-energy catalytic chemical processes, the process uses renewable biomolecules at low temperatures and low pressures.
