ABSTRACT: Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage: A Status Report Howard Herzog, MIT Energy Initiative
ABSTRACT: All components of a Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage system are in commercial operation today and it is currently operating at the megaton (millions of tons per year) scale. However, for CCS to play a significant role in mitigating climate change, it must operate at the gigaton (billions of tons per year) scale. This presentation will provide an overview on where CCS is today and the challenges that must be addressed to reach the gigaton scale. |
