BIO: Steve Jenkins is Vice President, Gasification Services for CH2M HILL, Inc. He has 35 years of experience in the power and chemical industries, with a specialty in the permitting and design of Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle technology using coal and pet coke feedstocks. He also works on gasification projects using alternative feedstocks such as biomass and municipal solid waste. While working at Tampa Electric Company, he was the Deputy Project Manager for the Polk Power Station IGCC Project, one of the two coal-based IGCC power plants in North America. He has given his “Gasification 101” and “IGCC 101” presentations to electric utilities, coal companies, chemical companies, regulatory agencies and environmental groups across North America, explaining gasification technology and its benefits in producing power and a wide range of fuels and chemicals. Steve holds a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Florida. |
