ABSTRACT: An Overview of the Current Status of the Siemens POSTCAP Process
Siemens is developing a second-generation process for post-combustion capture of CO2 from power plant flue gases. The process uses an amino-acid salt solution which has advantages in terms of efficiency and environmental impact. The capture process is currently being validated on a pilot scale in long term tests with flue gas from E.ON’s coal fired power plant Staudinger in Germany. This presentation will provide an overview of the energy efficiency, tolerance to other acid gases such as SOx and NOx and CO2 capture rate measured during the operation of the pilot plant. |
