Facilitating Knowledge Sharing Between China and Other Countries

China has much to learn and much knowledge to share with the rest of the world.  The McIlvaine Company is endeavoring to facilitate this exchange with the following initiatives:

1.       Global Decisions Orchard (GDO)

An organized system is provided to the world’s knowledge with search words precisely classified and published in Chinese as well as English.

4.       Products and services are decisively classified in English and Chinese.

The Global Decision Orchard search system allows the searcher to find answers.  It also helps to make decisions by decisively classifying options.  All decision making is a sequence of classifications.  Optimization of choices and optimization of the sequences assures the best decisions.

Here is an example:

China is installing a number of selective catalytic reduction systems.  The U.S. experienced catalyst deterioration at a faster rate than Europe.  As a result, a large industry has been created to maintain the catalytic performance.

McIlvaine assembled a group of experts and obtained consensus that there are three ways to improve catalytic performance.  The date is now entered into the McIlvaine Decisive Classification System as follows:

Some decisive classifications will be unique to China.  Regulations under structure and other factors make it desirable to make unique classifications by country.

An example is the new U.S. EPA regulation limiting power plant toxic metals.  Validation of performance can be achieved by two methods.

a.        Agree to meet a lower fine particulate limit.

b.      Measure the toxic metals separately.  These plants also have to monitor mercury.  So here are the options for measuring both mercury and fine particulate.

1.       Mass Particulate Monitor (lower limit) and mercury monitor.

2.       Mass Particulate monitor (higher limit) and monitor metals.

The creation of this knowledge sharing system will be evolutionary due to its ambitious scope.  It already is providing value.  An extensive effort is underway to improve this value.
