Title: First Uranium to Build Acid Plant to Secure Future Supply of Sulphuric Acid for its Uranium Plants

First Uranium announced that it would install an “off the shelf” acid plant to produce the sulfuric acid required by its uranium and gold mining projects in South Africa, rather than rely on purchases of the chemical from third parties. In developing the business case for the investment, First Uranium estimated that capital cost for a 600 tpd plant would be $31/tonne of sulfuric acid produced and annual operating costs would be $14/tonne.
