Iranian Deputy Energy Minister Mohammed Behzad said on Friday that Chinese companies will finance construction of 10 Iranian power plants for 74 months, Trend reports. A Chinese company has invested $500 million in construction of a coal-fired power plant in Tabas (central Iran) producing 650 MW. Iran may export 10,000 MW/h to neighboring states, as it is trying to become a large regional exporter of electricity and invited over $1.1 billion in investments for construction of three new power plants.
