Title: Utilities Will Finish 968 Air Pollution Projects Next Year at a Cost of $25 Billion

Power plants around the world are presently completing 968 air pollution control projects. When completed in 2013, the total investment will be in excess of $25 billion. These 968 projects are identified in two McIlvaine publications: Utility Environmental Upgrade Tracking System and Chinese Utility Plans. The projects range from $5 million to $150 million and average between $20 million and $40 million depending on the pollution control type included. The totals do not include installation of new catalyst, bags, or precipitator internals such as electrodes and rappers.
