The International Desalination Association (IDA) is the leading global organization dedicated to the advancement of desalination, desalination technology and water reuse. Founded in1985, it is the global hub of expertise, news and information, and professional development for the global desalination industry. Held every two years, the IDA World Congress is the world’s most premier event focused on desalination and water reuse, combining four days of Technical Sessions, an industry-leading Trade Exhibition, exclusive behind-thescenes plant tours, and unequaled networking opportunities throughout the Congress week. Attendees include the world’s most prominent desalination industry players, including end-users (utilities), manufacturers, suppliers, government officials, consulting engineers, project developers, financiers, researchers and scientists from around the globe. With the use of desalination now projected to double by 2016, we look forward to welcoming a record number of delegates to the 2011 World Congress in Perth. Already, our Exhibition will be the largest in Congress history, featuring more than 90 exhibitors in three pavilions featuring 4900 square meters of exhibition space. What better place to highlight the World Congress theme of sustainability than Western Australia, home to some of the world’s most sophisticated and eco-friendly plants and the epicenter of renewable energy for desalination.
