I had mentioned in our previous email exchange that I had severe allergies to mold, pollen, dust mites, etc., and that this year has been my worst allergy season in 50 years. Combined with the historically high pollen and mold counts, Iowa also had a drought this summer, with high humidity, high dew points, and high night time temps above 70 degrees. This is prime growing conditions for aspergillus mold (one of ten species of molds that I have tested as severely allergic to). Aspergillus is found not only in water damaged homes but, also in the dirt in Iowa crop fields, which my home is surrounded by (closest one is 20 feet from the house). But this spring and summer, particle counts were consistently 5-6ug/m3 and 8-9ug/m3…which is enough to trigger my allergy symptoms of post nasal drip, fatigue, headaches, sinus congestion / infection, ear aches, etc. But when winds are coming from the south…Particle counts are 20x higher than normal (and I'm nowhere near any wildfire smoke). The wind direction in the spring and summer months in Iowa, is always from the south. Click Here For Complete Article Text
