Chemstream Oilfield Services today says its hydraulic fracturing friction reducer technology (StimSTREAM FR 9800) is reaching up to a 40% decrease in FR usage and has provided significant hydraulic fracturing chemical savings for six natural gas producers in the Appalachian Shale basin. Chemstream president Dave McCombie expressed confidence that the company’s StimSTREAM FR 9800 Nano-Dispersion viscosifying technology is the most significant advancement in the FR process since the inception of “slick-water” hydraulic fracturing. “Our research and development has demonstrated that this technology is capable of helping operators lower costs and stimulate reservoir volumes at higher treatment rates for better well production,” said McCombie.
