There is not a proppant type that can be said to be better than others, it depends on the application. 3) 100 mesh is popular because it works. It needs to be used in conjunction with other mesh sizes to work in a fracturing application. 4) Combinations of proppants types and/or mesh sizes are used together to successfully frac wells. 5) API is in the process of updating API 19D.
