The 27th International Pump Users Symposium will be held in parallel with the 40th Turbomachinery Symposium on September 12-15, 2011 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX. The technical advisory committee for the Pump Symposium made this decision in near unanimity at their meeting on 18 March. No single factor caused the decision; however, the present economic downturn is generally hurting professional-development activities. The Pump Symposium Advisory Committee feels that a jointly-offered program with the Turbomachinery Symposium will make the ability to attend more likely for working rotating equipment professionals.
