EPA estimates that complying with the reconsidered national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (NESHAP) for stationary spark-ignition (SI) reciprocating internal combustion engines (RICE) will have an annualized cost of approximately $115 million per year (2009 or 2010 dollars) in the year of full implementation of the rule (2013). The total annualized costs of the reconsidered rule are 55% less than those for the final SI RICE NESHAP promulgated in 2010.
