Leopold has introduced a new Type XA low-profile underdrain system with improvements to make installation easier and increase reliability. Each segment has contractor-friendly handles which makes it easy to snap in place. The segments also contain “grout pockets” which allows grout to mushroom up through holes, offering ease of installation as well as a means of securing the units into place. The arched shape of the underdrain offers more structural integrity for deeper beds such as those required for desalination applications.
