Title: Sinopec Set to Build World's Largest Coal to Gas Conversion Plant

Sinopec has invested 70 billion yuan ($11.3 billion US) in order to build what will become the world's largest coal to gas conversion project in the world. The project is expected to be at the full capacity, 8 billion cubic meter of gas a year mark in seven to nine years, with phase I production beginning as early as 2017. SNG produced from this plant will go into the pipeline system the state-owned Sinopec also operates, stretching almost 5,000 miles from Xinjiang province to the southern Guangdong and eastern Zhejiang provinces.
