The deaerating feedwater heater is one of the most important components of the steam generation cycle in a boiler plant. Besides heating the feedwater, it also liberates and removes the non-condensable gases (primarily Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide) present in the water. These gases would cause pitting and corrosion if allowed to enter the boiler with the feedwater.
