“Hot Topic Hour” for August 30, 2012 Will Focus on “Pumps for Power Plants, Boilers and Water Treatment Facilities Combined Cycle Plants

Greg Morrison, Product Manager, Boiler Feed Water Pumps at Flowserve Corporation, Pump Division, will discuss the application of boiler feed pumps in combined cycle, thermo-solar and biomass power plants. He will discuss the types, sizes and required features of boiler feed pumps as they are applied to combined cycle, thermo-solar and biomass power plants.  With the decline of coal-fired generation, the three types of power plants mentioned above account for the vast majority of new power construction.  Each plant type requires unique solutions that will be summarized and discussed.

Tom Tschanz of McIlvaine Company will provide process flow diagrams and descriptions of some of the many pump applications in the power industry
